It’s easy to see what’s wrong with everybody else. It takes courage to look at yourself.

Sometimes blaming, controlling, or manipulating other people becomes a way of keeping the attention off what’s happening inside of us.

Matthew 7:3–5 talks about noticing the speck in someone else’s eye while ignoring the log in our own.

That doesn’t mean other people don’t have faults. It means I have to be willing to examine myself before I become consumed with correcting you.

Real change begins when I stop asking, “What’s wrong with them?” and have the courage to ask, “What’s going on with me?”
